Well, we made it in to Boston Logan airport. We had a little frustration and irritation with getting our car at Hertz. A bit of advice for fellow travelers - DO NOT DRIVE IN BOSTON. We finally made it to our B&B Irving House http://www.cambridgeinns.com/irving/
We walked several blocks to get a bite to eat at a place in Harvard Square called Dolphins. I had Seafood Bisque and stuffed mushrooms and Greg had a fresh seafood platter and New England Clam Chowder.
Everything is dripping from recent rains and all the buildings are covered with vines. It is very beautiful here. I will take some pictures tomorrow.

The rental experience sounds about par for the course as those things go! Hopefully you don't have too many unpleasant hitches along the way. So, you can eat seafood at restaurants out there! I forgot about that benefit of your locale. I'm going to check out the link to your B&B...glad you made it!
ReplyDeleteYou can drive in Boston. You just have to learn how to threaten the other drivers with your vehicle... and be sure to get the damage waiver. If you find yourself near Harvard Square again, there is a great Mongolian Grill called Fire & Ice. By taking the Blue Line, the Aquarium stop will drop you off near Legal Seafoods (across from the New England Aquarium in Downtown Denver) where they have great crab cakes. Down in Newton by Boston College (Green C Line and the Circle Center Stop), there is a place called Thai Bistro that has good shrimp wontons. There are some great old cemetaries on Commonwealth just north of Circle Center. However, the Thai Bistro is quite out of the way from downtown Denver.
ReplyDeleteLOL I like the comment about driving. You really have to be agressive. We are surprised that there isn't at least one college student run down everyday as they seem to pay no attention either. I still say DON'T DRIVE IN BOSTON (unless you want more gray hair and a bad mood)
